The 46th Resolution/NQ-CP from Vietnamese government will free visa for more citizens 5 countries: United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy when they come to Vietnam.

It means the citizens from these 5 countries mentioned above will free one time visa for entering Vietnam within 14 to 15days of staying in Vietnam since the day they get the entry permit to Vietnam. The visa will be required to apply in 30days for re-entry.

This policy will be enforced in the period of one year, from the date of July 1st, 2017to over the date of June 30th, 2018, and it will be reconsidered for extension continued or not. To until now, Vietnamese has freed visa one way for 8 countries such as Russia, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Belarus, Korea, Japan) and two-ways visa free for countries in the ASEAN Union

There are two ways of classification:

First, in terms of traveling purpose, there are three kinds of Vietnam entry visa:

- Tourist Visa: applied for 1 month visa to 3 months

- Business Visa: applied for 1 month visa to 6 months

Second, in terms of length of stay and number of entry, there are 4 types of visa:

- 1month single entry visa

- 1 month multiple entry visas

- 3 months single entry visa

- 3 months multiple entry visa

- 6 months multiple entry visa

There are 2 ways to obtain Vietnam visa:
- You can contact to Vietnam Embassy/Consulate in your country to get your visa done before departure.

Vietnam Visa on arrival is the type of visa picked up at Vietnam airports.

No, you cannot. Your passport is required to have minimum 6 months validity before your departure. Therefore you need to renew your passport before applying for a visa.

There are 2 kinds of fee you must pay to get visa on arrival: service fee and stamp fee

I am Darin from the USA.  I am in Hanoi now with a 3 month business visa.  My cousin (Moroccan passport holder) and I came to Hanoi together by air and got a visa by arrival on October 17th, 2014.  We both would like to extend our visas another three months to remain in Vietnam.  We got multiple entry visas but would like to switch to single entry if possible.  What is the procedure and costs for extending the visas and when should we apply (I assume a few days before January 17th is ok?)

I am a Canadian travel agent and my clients will be flying to Vietnam in March. They are leaving Canada though on the 13Jan and will be visiting Australia and New Zealand before heading to Vietnam.

I know they need a visa so my question is what is the easiest way for them to apply for it…is there a consulate in Vancouver that they can apply ahead of time……..or should they apply online…….also looking at the information about applying online it looks like they fill out the application wait for approval pay the fee and then once they get to Vietnam they get it stamped and pay another fee……is that correct??? and I don't see anywhere that says what the fees are………what is the fee to get it done in person at the consulate and what is it online……..thank you

1/. Tourist visa can be given for 1 month, if I would like to have Tourist visa more than 1 month at the time of application can it be granted else I have to apply for Business Visa?

2/ Instead of Visa on arrival, same can be given at the time of departure?
